Research projects

The majority of the work put into the LUE project is funded by research projects. If these dry out, the LUE project slows down or stops entirely. There is no indication that this will happen anytime soon, but the reason for this is that we have been successful in the past of getting research project funded in which we have been able to work on LUE.

We are regularly working on new research proposals in which LUE plays some part, and we are always interested in collaborating with other parties, either internal, national, or international. In case you are interested in collaborating with us on improving LUE than we are interested in learning from you, for example through email: lue@computationalgeography.org

Projects in which we are currently able to further the development of LUE include:

  • Campo: "Combining field-based and agent-based modelling"
For more info see the project site
  • GEOWAT (ERC Advanced Grant): "A global assessment of the limits of groundwater use"
For more info see the Earth Surface Hydrology group's Global Hydrology website
  • IMAGE (UU): "Making the IMAGE model FAIR"
For more info see this blog post and the model's website
  • Linguistics (NWO): "Disentangling the roles of social and biophysical factors in the evolution of linguistic diversity in South America"
  • Ulysses (EU): "Multi-model hydrological seasonal predictions system"
For more info see the project site
  • Vegetation (NWO): "Looking back to plan ahead – unfolding the natural heritage of Dutch landscapes"
